Extract of a letter sent to a GATR BOD from Bill Lunceford, Development Manager for GCPR:
The work on further development of the mountain bike trails is only being delayed for a short period of time until our mid year budget adjustment occurs. The grant monies are not in jeopardy and we will continue work shortly. The trails that have been developed thus far are routinely maintained by our park staff and the contractor who built the trails is also doing some "punch list" work on those trails as a part of his contract and that is not tied to further funding. There will not be a cost to remobilize for the contractor as he will be leaving his storage unit at the park since the delay is not anticipated to be very
We appreciate your patience and the work that GATR and SORBA have been doing at the park and we also appreciate the patience of the mountain bike community as we work to complete the trail system at the park.

Thank you,

There is good news and very bad news. We now have 4 trails at Harbins Park for a total of 10 miles. For the time being they are called MB1 through 4. MB4 was completed today and if the weather holds out it will be open for use by the weekend. It is 4 miles long and is designed for intermediate to advanced use. The entrance and exit involve rock jumps. There are some tough up hill climbs and some fast down hills that incorporate banked turns and jump offs. MB1, MB2 and MB3 are all being remachined to fix some of the early problems and will be much improved. They should be ready by the end of next week.
