GATR, GCPR and Steele & Associates need your help on MB5 – we have 2 miles of the 6.5 mile final section of Mountain Bike Trails at Harbins Park cleared. With enough volunteers from GATR, it can be Ready To Ride much MUCH sooner!
Steel & Associates will be leading crews of volunteers, and lunch will be provided by GATR and other sponsors. Please read on to see the schedule or work parties that runs through September.
We have reduced the times down to 9 a.m. to noon, so come out and help build the next great trail at Harbins Park. 6.5 miles of challenging and rolling hills. Make it your trail!
Our third night ride of 2010 will be at Tribble Mill this Friday. Please be there ready to ride in the playground parking lot at 7pm, or 8pm for the second sweep. Registration is required for this event.
Gainesville SORBA will be hosting a mountain bike festival with a Discovery Ride that explores the unique history and environment of the Chicopee Woods area along with games and chances to win swag. Saturday, April 3rd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
GATR will be hosting our monthly ride/day trip on the banks of Lake Chatuge at the Jack Rabbit Mtn. Bike Trail system near Hiawassee, GA on Sunday, March 28, 2010. This is a trail system with about 15 miles of trails.
As well as making some nice improvements to the mountain bike trails at Tribble Mill, GATR has a commitment to getting the trails at Tribble Mill in good shape and ready for the first race of the year, the Dirty Spokes Duathlon on Saturday, April 17th.
GATR will soon be forming a National Mountain Bike Patrol group. If you like riding your bike, helping other people, being involved in the management of your local trails, Learning and sharpening such skills as outdoor first aid, trail side bike repair, off-road riding and communication, then IMBA’s National Mountain Bike Patrol is for you!
GATR is working on a proposal with GCPR on improving the current trail system known as ‘Taco Stand’ at Tribble Mill Park in Lawrenceville.
Bruce at Apalachee has just finished up his design for their new jersey’s and shorts. They have a fit kit in the store. Anyone interested in getting a jersey can come by the store and try on your size. They have club sport and woman’s size. Price is $50 and they should have them in by the middle of March.
