Youth Mountain Biking Group

Wants you to come play in the dirt with us.

Who are we:

We are a bunch of kids that love to ride and have fun. (Parents are encouraged to ride with us)

Where do we meet:

We meet at Harbins Park  – 2995 Luke Edwards Road, Dacula, GA 30019

When do we meet:

We meet the First Saturday of each month at 10:30 AM
and the Third Sunday of each month at 2:00 PM

Note: the first ride will be Sunday, October 16th at 2:00 p.m. at Harbins Park.

Everyone is welcome to ride with us. Groups are formed based on skill and number of participants.   The club meets year round; we only cancel rides for bad weather. So come on out and join us for some fun and socialization with other kids that like to ride.

We are using Champion Systems for the jersey’s and they have a size guide online and how to measure for a jersey (and we will have fit kits available soon).

So, how do I get my jersey? First email Membership@sorbagatr.org  with your name and phone number and make sure to specify your item sizes and summer or regular jersey.  We will return the address for  mailing or delivering your payment.  Email any others questions not answered here to Membership@sorbagatr.org

You must pre-pay to be included on the order, no exceptions. When will you receive your jersey or shorts? It will take 6-8 weeks to deliver after we close orders and settle on the design, so late-July timeframe.  What’s the deadline? We will need to give folks a chance to try on the different jersey’s of the fit kit, so the goal is to place the order by June 1sts.

Below is the rough design and we are waiting for the final design and will publish that when we receive it.

Also, starting on Tuesday, April 12th Apalachee Cycles will sponsor a weekly group ride at Harbins Park.  Ready to Ride at 6:30 p.m.

Hey all, are you ready to start riding MB5 at Harbins Park? I know I am. Aaron Steel has asked us at GATR for a hand on the finishing touches of the trail, so that he can get the final approval to get it open to the public.

We are going to have a work party next Saturday, March 12th from 9am – 3pm.
The work will consist of raking and final cleaning of the trail. And with 7 plus miles, there is a lot to be done. The first wave can meet in the main lot by 9am. The second wave will be meet at 12 pm. If you can only come out for 1-2 hours, and cant meet us in the lot, feel free to contact Aaron or myself and we will get you where we need you.

Please bring water and a snack for yourself, and be sure to wear proper gear. As a added bonus, if you bring your bike, for those who lend a hand, you will be given the opportunity to ride the newly built trail, and a chance to give your thoughts and opinions, after your done. We have been waiting close to 2 years for this trail, so please come on out.

If you come out after the meeting times in the main lot, then Call Joe Bodnar @ 404-667-7780 or send Aaron Steel a PM through the GATR Forum, his user ID is “SAI Trails” and we will get you back with the others.

Before heading out “you must” contact either Aaron Steel, via PM through the SORBA forum, or you can call Jon Hodgson at 678-886-5520, and they will arrange to have someone meet with you in the parking lot and then escort you back to the work area. Please do not go back there with out their permission. Trail work is being done on a weekday basis “weather permitting” from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. They will also be out there on Saturdays if they get people who want to go out and work. The more help they get, the sooner the trail will be open and ready to ride this spring!!!

You MUST be registered to participate and anyone not registered will be turned away. County officials will be in attendance to make sure everyone signs a waiver.

The cost is $5 per ride for Gwinnett Residents.
For out-of-county residents, the fee is $10 per ride.

The cost is to cover staff and 70% of the fees come back to GATR.
